The history of A R Manley & Son Ltd
A family business
Just after the Second World War in 1945 Alec Roger Manley started trading as a general builder and joiner working from a small workshop on the site at Somerwood, Rodington.
In 1956 his son Alec John Manley joined the company with Fred Manley joining the business in 1984. Although times have changed and A R Manley & Son Ltd is in its third generation, our ideals and values have never changed.
History of the business
In the December of 1957, the company was incorporated as "A. R. Manley & Son Ltd".
By the early 1960s, A. R Manley & Son Ltd had moved away from the general building side of business to concentrate solely on the manufacture and fitting of joinery.

Recent history
A. R. Manley and Son Ltd became members of the British Woodworking Federation in October 1996.
In October 2002 we attained BS EN ISO 9001:2000 quality management accreditation for the “design, manufacture and supply" of new and replacement joinery.
